Year 0: The Ancestors of Abyssial's, called "Planars," Warp into this plane of existence and find a planet that they called “Bastion.” They sought a source of energy powerful enough to hold the Cosmos Seed, and Bastion was perfect.
Year 1-99: Planars begin to warp in cities from their home plane and make a civilization on Bastion. Included in these structures were eight grand temples, one even more extravagant than the last. The Temples began massaging Bastion’s aura, gently extracting it while also bolstering it through the prayer and ceremonies of the Temple dwellers.
Year 100: Planars create magical golems called Hatari. They use these Golems as slaves, performing hard physical labor and other menial tasks. The Hatari are not sentient at this point. Around this time, the Planars discover Bastion Demons, though they are familiar with Demons from their homeplane as well.
Year 110: A Demon named Uevanril convinces a group of Planars to instill the Hatari with their own artificial auras in order to increase productivity. When the aura capacitors activate, there is a chain-reaction with Bastion’s aura and they are granted souls as well. The Planars still use them as slaves, however, and so hatred begins to breed in the Hatari.
Year 120: The Hatari revolt against the Planars. This causes the Planars to destroy almost all of the Hatari except for a handful that go into hiding.
Year 130: The Planars finally collect enough aura through the temples to facilitate the planting of the Cosmos Seed. However, at the exact moment that the planting ritual is finished, Bastion reacts violently and a wave of energy washes over the entire planet, sending all Planars back to their homeplane and even stripping them of their most powerful plane-traveling techniques. This same wave grants sentience to several already intelligent life-forms. Humans, Ille’ren, Sseshvek, and Saven all gain sentience this way.
Year 131-1131: The four races begin to develop their own civilizations as they move from hunting and gathering to agriculture. In this time, the Hatari that survived come back from hiding and inhabit the ancient cities of the Planars, using the technology they left behind to bolster their development. The Hatari rename themselves “Fabrilians.”
Year 1350: The Fabrilians visit the other races and gift them with technologies, boosting their technological levels significantly. The Saven are wary of the gifts but accept.
Year 1450: The Planars return to Bastion, this time calling themselves “Abysions.” However, these Abysions inhabit a different part of the world than their Planar ancestors.
Year 1550: Some Abysions move to the hemisphere that includes the four races and the Fabrilians. These Abysions develop glowing eyes and are called “Abyssials.”
Year 1850: The races develop Civil Bastion, and their technology has become similar to modern-day earth (with several exceptions, airships instead of airplanes, for one). Bastionites discover that rudimentary space travel is impossible due to a barrier-like field of aura surrounding the planet.
Year 2000: The Demons, lead by the Chaos Warsire Exilus, become extremely aggressive and attack Civil Bastion. There is a period of depression as all resources are put toward the war effort. The Seraphics come to Bastion, lead by the Archangel and High Seraphim Alvondros. They assist the four races in fighting off the Demon menace and bring with them a new religion. Seraphics make a pact with Humans saying that the Human government will defer to the Seraphics at all times.
Year 2170: Primordial Lords awaken and begin to wreak havoc all over Bastion. The shamans from many different races come together and form the Primordial Faction. The Primordial Faction are able to use ancient artifacts to control the Primordial lords, and they declare war against technology and, by association, the Fabrilians. The Fabrilians form the Feratic Faction in response, mainly a militarized force that fights for technological rights against the Primordials.
Year 2180: As people begin to join the fight between good and evil, the Seraphic Faction and the Demonic Faction are formed. This division of people becomes known as the Factional War, as each of the groups begins to fight one another (though the main enemies are Seraphics vs. Demons and Feratics vs. Primordials, they still step on the others toes from time to time).
Year 2220: The Present.
